Hardwood Flooring — Installation, Refinishing, and Premium Supply

Hardwood flooring has stood the test of time — and for good reason. It adds warmth, character, and lasting value that few other home upgrades can match. Whether you're planning a custom build, refreshing existing floors, or starting a major remodel, our second-generation family business has been the trusted source for hardwood flooring since 1984. We supply, install, and refinish — handling every part of the process under one roof.

THE FULL HARDWOOD SERVICE

Most flooring companies do one thing — sell the wood, install it, or refinish it. We do all three. That means one team, one point of contact, and one company accountable from the first conversation through the final walkthrough. Whether you're a homeowner working through your first hardwood project or a custom home builder coordinating a major build, the experience is the same: premium materials, precise installation, and craftsmanship that holds up for decades.

SOLID VS. ENGINEERED HARDWOOD — WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

The two main types of hardwood are solid and engineered, and the right choice depends on the room, the climate, and how you actually live in your home. Solid hardwood is a single piece of genuine wood throughout. It can be sanded and refinished as many as 6-8 times across its lifespan, making it one of the longest-lasting flooring investments available. A quality solid hardwood floor often outlasts the home itself.

Engineered hardwood features a real wood top layer bonded to plywood or HDF underneath. The multi-layer construction gives it superior dimensional stability and moisture resistance — making it the smarter choice for basements, kitchens, areas over concrete, and homes with significant seasonal humidity changes. You still get the look and feel of real wood — because it is real wood on top — with better performance in challenging conditions.

A PARTNER FOR CUSTOM HOME BUILDERS AND INTERIOR DESIGNERS

Some of the most important relationships we've built over four decades are with custom home builders and interior designers across Utah. Builders count on us for premium product, on-time delivery, and clean installation that holds up under inspection. Designers spec wood species, stains, and patterns for projects where the flooring is part of a larger design vision — and they trust us to source what they need and install it precisely.

FOR HOMEOWNERS

Most of our work still comes from homeowners — families investing in their forever home, retirees refinishing decades-old floors, growing families installing carpet or hardwood. Whether it's a single room or a whole-home install, we treat every project the same way: premium product, precise installation, and a team that follows through after the work is done.

OUR INSTALL TEAMS ARE OURS

Hardwood is only as good as the install. Our install teams are ours — same crews, same dependable work, same result. No rotating help, no guessing who's showing up. The people installing your hardwood are the same people we've trusted on every project for years, and their work carries our name on it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does hardwood flooring last?

A quality solid hardwood floor can last 50+ years with proper care and periodic refinishing — often outlasting the home itself. Engineered hardwood typically lasts 20-30 years depending on the wear layer thickness.

Should I refinish or replace my hardwood floors?

In most cases, refinishing is the better choice. As long as the boards are structurally sound and the wear layer is thick enough, sanding and refinishing brings floors back to like-new condition at a fraction of the cost of replacement. We assess the condition during a consultation.

What's the difference between solid and engineered hardwood?

Solid hardwood is one piece of real wood — refinishable many times, lasts generations. Engineered hardwood has a real wood veneer over plywood or HDF — more stable, better for basements, kitchens, and humid spaces. Both are real wood. The right choice depends on the room.

Can hardwood be installed in basements?

Solid hardwood isn't recommended for below-grade installations because of moisture concerns. Engineered hardwood is the better choice for basements — its multi-layer construction handles humidity changes much better than solid wood.

How long does hardwood installation take?

Most residential hardwood installations take 3-7 days depending on the square footage, the condition of the subfloor, and whether finishing is done on-site. We give you a precise timeline during the consultation.
